Sweet Older Lab Seeks Forever Home – Adopted
Meet Tori – Adopted! – she’s an 8 year old Lab mix that’s spayed and up to date on shots. She loves dogs, cats, and children; she’s so easy going she’d do well in almost any home. Don’t let her age fool you; Tori is in great shape and enjoys physical activity.
She loves going for walks and hanging out with the family. She would like to find a family that will give her the love and attention she deserves in her golden years – she’ll return your love ten fold. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate companion Tori’s your girl. Who doesn’t love a sweet older Lab?
Adding a senior dog to your life is one of the best decisions you can make; you’re saving a life and gaining and instant best friend. You don’t have to worry about teething and potty training. Older dogs tend to focus much easier meaning you can indeed teach an old dog new tricks. They tend to settle into new homes easily and they’re grateful for the second chance they’ve been given.
What you see is what you get – and in Tori’s case you’ll be giving a sweet, easy going, loyal friend the second chance she deserves. Help her spend her golden years with all the love and attention she deserves.
She’s available for adoption through Last Chance Rescue in Howell, MI. Last Chance Rescue has been saving dogs for 17 years; to date they’ve found homes for over 27,000 animals. Most of their animals come from kill shelters and research facilities.
Seniors Still Seeking Homes
In honor of Adopt a Senior Dog Month I wanted to share these sweet Michigan seniors that are still seeking homes.
A dog doesn’t care if you’re rich or poor, big or small, young or old. He doesn’t care if you’re not smart, not popular, not a good joke-teller, not the best athlete, nor the best-looking person. To your dog, you are the greatest, the smartest, the nicest human being who was ever born. You are his friend and protector. – Louis Sabin
The Tuesday’s Tails Blog Hop is hosted by Talking Dogs and Dogs N Pawz. It’s the weekly blog hop that features adoptable shelter pets. Find a pet at a local rescue and join in or help share these great pets to find them the loving homes they deserve.

Tori is beautiful and so is Walter, Ella and Miles. I feel so bad for senior dogs that are looking for forever homes:( Sharing.

The graphic with Tori is great. A picture like that ought to bring lots of people in to see her and help her find the perfect home quickly. Thanks for your continued effort in helping senior dogs find new homes.

They really did such an amazing job with her photos – I love when rescues make sure to snap some really great shots that show a lot of detail and personality. I’m thinking that because her photos are so stunning she’ll be in a new home soon.
Lindsay Stordahl says
Oh how sweet. She sounds a lot like my Ace. I hope she finds her forever home very soon. She certainly deserves it. The seniors really get to me. I just feel so bad for them.

Aw, I love that little bit of grey on her muzzle. Sharing this beautiful girl <3

Something about grey muzzles gets me, too. They took such beautiful photos of her – I’m hoping she’ll be adopted quickly because of that.

Oh Last Chance Rescue. Not a fan of that one. I sure hope Tori finds a great home!
Jen Gabbard says
I’ve seen them a few times at the Brighton Pet Smart a few times and had a couple good chats with a few of the fosters; I will admit I haven’t worked with them so I don’t know many details about their policies.

My sister got a dog from them.
Jen Gabbard says
If there’s anything I should know about them feel free to let me know. I try to support local rescues but I will be honest I don’t know much about this one and there are a few others I didn’t feel comfortable promoting because of some weird policies.

How can I put this delicately…lol. I am not sure they make the best placements for the dogs. I understand trying to get them out of the shelter or the foster, but they don’t seem to do much screening. (Can’t believe I am saying that!…lol). Of course it was a few years ago and maybe they take a bit more time these days. I mean when you stumble on an adoption event and leave with the dog, it seems too fast. Shouldn’t there be a cooling off period or something? (It wasn’t just sis’s adoption either.)
Jen Gabbard says
I completely understand that now. I’ve seen a few of their dogs on petfinder for ages so I think I assumed that they did better screenings. Perhaps they’ve changed, but maybe not. Sometimes I’ve noticed it depends on the person reviewing the app as well. One of the other local rescues I don’t want to promote specializes in puppies and doesn’t do any screenings. Something about it rubs me the wrong way – just showing up with money and leaving with a puppy or two…
