Roundup 103: Favorite Dog Articles & Videos of the Week
In case you haven’t heard next Saturday, April 29, 69 shelters across Michigan will be having free pet adoptions. The participating shelters will have their adoption fees paid for by the Bissell Pet Foundation during another Empty the Shelters Event.
The last one, which was held in October, found homes for 1900 animals. This time they’re aiming for 2000. To find out more, including a full list of participating shelters click here.
Again: Over 60 Michigan shelters will be having free pet adoptions on April 29. Adopters will only be responsible for licensing fees, which range from $7-12.
Oh, and for everyone whose been asking me where they can get a Laika of their very own now is your chance. Roswell is available at the Oakland County Pet Adoption Center, and I can tell just by looking at him he’s a very good boy.

I love that shelters work hard to find homes for all their pets. I just wish it was a full-time thing, not just a couple of times a year.
There is an organization called Just One Day, and it is in June. They have shelters and AC’s sign up and they give them all the tips and tools to help them empty their cages for that one day. Their goal is to make the country a no-kill nation all year long. I wish it would hurry up and get here.
