Sweet Cattle Dog Found Her Forever Home – Adopted
Sawyer Is An 8 Year Old Cattle Dog – Adopted
Update September 5, 2014 – After nearly a year in the shelter I’m happy to report that Sawyer found her forever home.
Sawyer has been patiently waiting for a new home. She’s been at the shelter for months, people always tell her how nice and well behaved she is but she keeps getting passed up.
While the staff and volunteers here at the shelter have been great with me, nothing beats a loving home. Won’t you give me that chance? I promise I will be the best dog I can be and give you love and warmth in return.
Sawyer- Is a 8 year old, female, Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler.) I’m house trained and leash trained. I know basic commands and have a medium energy level. My previous owner couldn’t keep me, so I’m looking for a new home, one that understands my breed and has a fenced in yard where I can run.
I’m very loyal and protective of my family and residence, and may be cautious with strangers at first. I’m a smart, loving and friendly dog. I love to swim and snuggle with teens and adults. I’d do best in a home with no small children, especially ones who don’t realize that climbing and pulling on me hurts.
I’ve lived with men and women and other dogs, but prefer to be the only dog. I’d love to meet you at the Oakland County Pet Adoption Center! You can even take me for a walk, so you can see what a great, well-behaved dog I am!
Sawyer is available at the Oakland County Pet Adoption Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Thanks for having me. Sawyer is a sweetheart, I think she’ll get a nice forever home by the end of the summer. An 8 year old herding dog isn’t the first thing most people are looking for but I know she’ll win over the right family who (hopefully) has experience with ACDs.
